Chocolate Jelly

My Aunty Myra taught me how to make this chocolate jelly.

I make it for birthday parties and Christmas mostly. It is so easy and takes so little time to make and is so good to eat.

1 Packet agar-agar jelly powder

150g caster sugar

Mix the agar-agar powder and sugar together in a saucepan.

1000ml full cream fresh milk

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

2 tablespoons condensed milk

1 teaspoon butter

Pour 500ml of the milk into a large cup or bowl and heat for 30 seconds in the microwave oven. Dissolve the cocoa powder in the slightly hot milk. Stir in the condensed milk.

Pour the other 500ml of the milk into the agar-agar powder and sugar mixture in the saucepan. Stir well to mix. Bring to a gentle boil. Add the other 500ml of milk mixture. Stir constantly until the consistency of the liquid seems to be thickening slightly and the agar-agar has dissolved (about 5 minutes of stirring). Stir in the butter.

Pour into a tray or a jelly mould. Let it cool for a while and then refrigerate.
